John Pither

John Pither died in hospital on Wednesday 20th August 2008, and his funeral service took place on Friday 29th August at the Hilton Park Woodland Burial Grounds. He had been in hospital or a nursing home for many months suffering from Parkinson's Disease and finally died from a worn out heart.

John and his uncle John Pither had been members of the 1st Hatch End Scout Group, and together started the 7th Pinner Scout Group attached to Pinner United Free Church.

Lawrence Philpott

The funeral for Lawrence, formerly GSL 17th Harrow and ADC in Harrow & Wealdstone District was held as a Requiem Mass at the Church of Our Lady and St Thomas of Canterbury, Roxborough Park, Harrow on the Hill on the 21st May 2012.

Our thoughts go out to Maureen and their three grown sons, Lance, Adrian and Anton at this difficult time. Donations were made in his memory to St Luke's Hospice.

Joan Moore

Joan Moore's funeral took place at Breakspear Crematorium on Monday 6th August 2012.

Joan was a member of 1st Hatch End Scout Group and at one time District Appointments Secretary for Pinner and Headstone District.

Pauline May

It is with regret Greenford and District advise the “Calling to Higher Service” of Pauline May on 11th January 2010.

Pauline began her Scouting life in 1978 as Secretary to 1st Southall (St. George’s) Group where she then became an Assistant Cub Scout Leader. In 1994 Southall District joined Greenford & District, following which she became D.C.S.L. and then A.D.C. for Cubs.

Ken Lightfoot

Ken Lightfoot started his Scouting career as a boy in Wapping and in 1952 became Assistant Scout Master of 24th Stepney and Scout Master a year later.  Moving to Greenford when he was married, he was appointed Scout Master of 5th Greenford (All Hallows) in 1957 and Group Scout Master in 1960.  During his time in Greenford District he became District Cub Master and ADC Cub Scouts and finally ADC.

Pat Knight

It is with sorrow we have to advise you of the death on 14th November of Pat Knight, widow of Harry Knight.

Pat held appointments in Paddington & St Marylebone, Harrow and Northwood-Eastcote before moving to Essex where she was very active in the Cub Scout Section. She had recently become Chairman of the Appointment Advisory Committee in Maldon and East Essex Scout District.
