Vic Arnold

Vic Arnold was a Scout Leader with the 6th Brentford and at one time the County Air Scouts Advisor.
He passed away in late August 2010.  He had been sufferring from Motor Neurone Disease.
Some of us were able to attend his funeral in Bournemouth.

Jack Petchey Award Scheme

The County is fortunate to run a scheme, funded by the Jack Petchey Foundation which distributes over £20,000 in £200 Achievement awards to members aged 11 to 25 across the Scout County.   Each GLMW District has an award coordinator who collects the Achievement Award nominations and ensures that the selection process is carried out correctly and that the money is spent.  The guidelines are clear that young people must be involved in the selection of the person to receive the award and in what the money is spent on.   Membership of the scheme requires the County to s

Fundraising for Jamboree

Fundraising for the GLMW Units to the 22nd World Scout Jamboree in Sweden 2011 has now finished.  The Unit members would like to thank all those who have helped make this trip possible.
