Pam Hall

It was a great shock to hear that Pam Hall had passed away on the evening of Wednesday 17 November. I had only been speaking to her a matter of a few hours earlier, when she had been telling me of her keep fit classes and the fact that she went swimming regularly each week, and that she was looking forward to Christmas and having her family around.

Pam started her voluntary work in the Guide Movement before becoming a Cub Scout Leader in 1961. Since then she has always been involved with Feltham District. In 1974 she became District Secretary, and more lately Appointment Secretary,  positions she held right up until her death. During this time she has supported four District Commissioners. She also spent a good number of years as an Assistant County Secretary.

Pam received her Long Service Decoration in 1986, her Medal of Merit in 1987, the Bar to the Long Service Decoration in 1995, and the Bar to the Medal of Merit in 1998. Pam was one of those people who worked quietly in the background, always reliable; there when you wanted her, a source of valuable information, having a balanced, sound judgement. She disseminated correspondence from Scout Headquarters, making sure the correct person received the correct literature. In true Scouting style at the end of Pam's journey. She will be sadly missed.
