Pauline May

It is with regret Greenford and District advise the “Calling to Higher Service” of Pauline May on 11th January 2010.

Pauline began her Scouting life in 1978 as Secretary to 1st Southall (St. George’s) Group where she then became an Assistant Cub Scout Leader. In 1994 Southall District joined Greenford & District, following which she became D.C.S.L. and then A.D.C. for Cubs.

It was after this time her administrative skills became very apparent when she became Secretary to the Appointments Committee, and then Deputy Chairman of the District Scout Fellowship. Apart from these tasks, Pauline was appointed Badge Secretary and District Shop Manager, organising a most efficient and profitable department. Her other skills became obvious when she took over the organising of the Jack Petchey Award Scheme in Greenford, and up-dated the District Directory. On a lighter side, Pauline was a long standing member of Greenford Gang Show, and was the Wardrobe Mistress for many years.

Scouting in Southall and Greenford owes a great offer of thanks to a lady who will be sadly missed.
