The annual Southern 50 Challenge Hike is on Saturday 11th February 2012 and is organised by the Scout County of Greater London North.
This is an adventure based navigation event which takes place from a new venue every year at a different location in The Chiltern Hills.
Teams of 3 to 5 participants have to navigate their way around one of three routes, walking from checkpoint to checkpoint. Walkers have 24 hours to complete either a 50 mile, 50 km or 30 km route. The 30 km route is exclusively for Explorer Scouts.
All walkers are encouraged to stay over on the Saturday night at the start and finish venue, details of which will be disclosed shortly before the event. There will be entertainment and activities laid on for the Explorer Scouts on the Saturday evening and the presentation of trophies and certificates for all walkers takes place at 1000 hrs on the Sunday morning.
This annual event has been running for over 30 years and we would love more Explorer Scouts and adults from your county to be part of the adventure.
