Take your Scouts or Guides on the adventure of a lifetime !

Following the great success of our previous expeditions, we’re off to Switzerland in 2013 when Kandersteg is our destination once again.  Located high in the Bernese Oberland, Kandersteg hosts the world’s only International Scout Centre. This unique Centre, set amidst spectacular scenery close to Interlaken and Bern, offers some amazing opportunities for your young people 

• Mingle with 500 Scouts & Guides from all around the world - from Italy and Switzerland, to Australia and South America
• Experience the culture and scenery of Switzerland - from crystal clear lakes and soaring mountains to picturesque villages and historic cities
• Take part in memorable High Adventure - spend the night in a mountain hut at 10,000 feet after hiking across a huge glacier

When and Who?

The expedition will run from 19/20 to 30 August 2013, and is intended for Scouts, Explorer Scouts, Scout Network, Active Support, Guides and Senior Section - if our previous expeditions are anything to go by we expect that over 600 will attend! There are also opportunities for Leaders and Helpers to join the expedition staff.

Is it for us?

The great thing for Leaders is that there’ll be helping hands from experienced staff all along the way - from making the site bookings (which we already have) through to arranging the transport and food. We can take the fear out of International expeditions for you. Group and staff registration

Registration for the expedition is now open. August 2013 may sound like a long way off, but it’s worth planning ahead to ensure that everyone has the dates in their diary now. Make sure you’re on the mailing list by completing the registration form.

Please send the registration form to Leon Mielewczyk with your registration fee of £10. Reply as soon as possible, and no later than 31 May 2012 in order to receive the first mailing which will include more information so that you can brief everyone in your troop or unit. Staff team opportunities

We wish to recruit some new members (especially young ones) to the organising team. Do you know anyone who can help to make this one of the highlights in the life of our County? We would prefer those who are part of the organising team to have a sound knowledge of their subject and a desire to give young people an expedition to remember, but if you are willing to learn we would also be happy to hear from you.
