Registration opens for Kandersteg 2013
By Phil Power on 4th Feb 2012, 7:41pmFollowing the great success of our previous expeditions, we’re off to Switzerland in 2013 when Kandersteg is our destination once again. Located high in the Bernese Oberland, Kandersteg hosts the world’s only International Scout Centre. This unique Centre set amidst spectacular scenery, close to Interlaken and Bern, offers some amazing opportunities for your young people.
Registration for the expedition is now open, the registration form for the expedition is available online here. There is lots more information available on the main expedition page, or the registration pages.
New 6 - 25 Programme Team

ACC Beavers - Jane Sanguy continues to build on her excellent work to date in leading our work in the Beaver Section.
ACC Cubs - Alison Oakley joins the County Team to take the ACC Cubs role, which has been vacant for some time. Alison is, among other things, a CSL with the 7th Heston in TGU.
ACC Scouts - Matt Young joins the County Team to take over the vacant ACC Scouts role. Matt is currently the ADC Scouts for Stanmore and District.
ACC for 14 to 25 - Richard Williams joins to look after Explorers and Scout Network in one portfolio, Richard is currently an AESL in Uxbridge and works with the County Hill Walking team.
ACC Young Leaders - Martin 'Rabbit' Raby joins to support the Young Leader programme across the county, he is an AESL in TGU and was recently an Assistant Unit Leader to the 22nd World Scout Jamboree in Sweden.
I look forward to working closely with this newly expanded team over the coming months as we see Scouting in GLMW go from strength to strength.
Kandersteg 2013

Following the great success of our previous expeditions, we’re off to Switzerland in 2013 when Kandersteg is our destination once again. Located high in the Bernese Oberland, Kandersteg hosts the world’s only International Scout Centre. This unique Centre, set amidst spectacular scenery close to Interlaken and Bern, offers some amazing opportunities for your young people.
When and Who?
The expedition will run from 19th to 30th August 2013, and is intended for Scouts, Explorer Scouts, Scout Network, Active Support, Guides and Senior Section - if our previous expeditions are anything to go by we expect that over 500 will attend! There are also opportunities for Leaders and Helpers to join the expedition staff.
Is it for us?
The great thing for Leaders is that there’ll be helping hands from experienced staff all along the way - from making the site bookings (which we already have) through to arranging the transport and food. We can take the fear out of International expeditions for you. Who knows, Kandersteg 2013 may be only the first of many International experiences for your group. Staff team
We wish to recruit some new members (especially young ones) to the organising team. Do you know anyone who can help to make this one of the highlights in the life of our County? We would prefer those who are part of the organising team to have a sound knowledge of their subject and a desire to give young people an expedition to remember, but if you are willing to learn we would also be happy to hear from you.

23rd World Scout Jamboree

By Paul Spencer on 25th Oct 2011, 2:15pmWe are looking to fill a number of County level roles before Christmas; we need to appoint ACCs for Cubs / Scouts / Explorers and Young Leaders as well as a County Scout Network Commissioner and a Top Awards Advisor.
If you are a dynamic and enthusiastic individual with a passion for putting young people first, then you are just what we are looking for. If that sounds you then why not apply?
