Explorers, Network and Leaders now registering for SkyCamp 2013

Registrations for this year's SkyCamp (20-22nd September) are now coming in. With three levels of competition this year, Explorers, Network Scouts and Leaders everyone will have the opportunity to show off their skills in the trees. Add to that a wide range of mental and physical challenges to make the weekend fly and you will wonder why you have never done it before. The mission is to build your campsite in the SkyZone. That is out in the woodlands of the PACCAR Scout Campsite, Chalfont Heights, between 50cm and 2.5m above the ground. How you achieve this is entirely up to you.

In previous years, we have had as many different solutions as there have been teams so nothing is off limits, as long as its safe to stand on that is. We have seen tree level platforms, cargo nets, hammocks and rope systems in use. All of which gives great flexibility for innovation which is what our independent team of referees is looking for. Add to that a cooking challenge, off the ground of course, a day full of additional, mystery challenges brought to you throughout the competition just to keep you on your toes and flexing your creative muscles. With each minute that passes you will find that you can't help but enjoy the event as the smiles build and the excitement takes over. In the evening, everybody gets to chill out by the campfire, in the "chillzone" or in the SkyLounge which this year will be out in the woodland too. Tired limbs are able to recover before a night in the trees and on to the Sunday finale.

So, to enter, get in touch with the crew at the PACCAR Site Office ( office@chalfont.org ) or drop an e-mail to richardwilliams@glmwscouts.org.uk or simply fill out the application form attached below and send it to Richard Williams at the address on the form. You can reserve your place with a deposit of £25 per team. The cost for the weekend is £15 per person plus you need to bring your own food. We have a SkyCamp Booklet to help you plan the best way to take part in the event with some "Top-Tips" on how to stay above the ground and score lots of points. It is attached below along with the event flyer so that you can download them and read at your leisure while making your plans to win. We look forward to seeing you on September 20th with everything ready to go.
