Archery

During 2015 the Scout Association migrated this activity to the Scout activity permit scheme and holders of existing GB Archery qualifications permits are required to hold a Scouting Adventurous Activity permit for Archery.

Periodically Archery training courses are held at PACCAR for the crew. Any spare places are offered across the County. Subject to demand, additional courses can be arranged at PACCAR or local ranges. Please contact the County Advisor for details or to register an interest in a course.

Holders of a GB Archery instructor award should apply to the County Assessor to gain a Scout permit using a Scout Permit application form. The Scout assessor will review and pass to the relevant DLV for approval.

Permit holders should keep a logbook to record details of archery sessions.

Upon expiry, permit holders should contact Archery GB to renew their award and then once granted, a copy should be sent to the County Assessor for renewal of their Scout permit together with a Permit application form, including an experience log. The assessor will review and pass to the relevant DLV for approval.

Scout permits will normally be granted for a maximum of 3 years to align with the period of the Archery GB award.
