Hillwalking Lake District Weekend, for Adult Scout Members
This trip is to Lake District National Park over the weekend of 24th to 26th November 2023
The hill walking weekends are friendly and social, run by experienced and qualified Scouters, including members of the GLMW Duke of Edinburgh (DoE) scheme team.
New to hillwalking or looking to gain a permit, this weekend is designed to cater for all comers with a basic level of fitness.
The Lakes is a fabulous place to go walking.
Is this for me?
Absolutely! All you need is a basic level of fitness and hiking boots. Unsure of your fitness? Contact us using the form further down the page.
The Lake District can be a little more challenging than some other areas we visit but don’t let this put you off. If you are unsure of your fitness level, please contact us via the form below, email or contact one of the team directly if you already have our details.
This trip is ideal for those who may want a skills refresher, to learn something new, are a seasoned pro, or just want to experience a nice weekend with good company in the British hills.
For those who are keen to gain or practice map, compass and other skills. We offer skills coaching from basic to advanced to enable you to gain the skills required for the UK hills, used locally to your Scout hut and should you wish, help you to prepare for assessment to gain a hillwalking Terrain 1 or 2 permit. The weekend can also be used for testing your current skills, enabling you to build an experience of quality mountain days for your logbook.
Attendees from new leaders, young leaders (18+), the more experienced or committee members are all very welcome!
