This an exciting opportunity for a volunteer to lead, promote and support Scouting’s youth shaped strategy across the County. The GLMW Youth Commissioner Role plays an active part in the senior leadership of the County and is a member of the County Executive and is expected to work in partnership with colleagues across the county and district teams. We’re grateful to Charlotte McBrayne who has stepped down as Youth Commissioner after a successful period in the role over the last twelve months. Charlotte will be continuing her involvement with the County by helping with the evolution of our Social Media strategy.
This voluntary appointment is for an initial term of up to 2 years as agreed on appointment and subject to review with the County Commissioner, with the potential for reappointment for a further period. The GLMW Youth Commissioner must be aged between 18 and 25.
If you would like to be considered for the GLMW Youth Commissioner Role then send an email by Friday, 24th February 2018. Once the shortlist of interested candidates is drawn up, interviews are expected to take place in March. Shortlisted candidates will be notified of the dates and given an outline of the selection process.
The successful candidate will have a period for induction and familiarisation once the appointment process is complete and before formally taking the role at the County AGM in September.
If you require any further information about the role, or indeed would like an informal discussion about it, please get in touch.
