Stan had a fruitful life. He worked as an underwriter at Lloyds of London and then was Risk Manager at the 600 Group. He is remembered as being thorough in his professional life, in his church life as a Licensed Reader in the Church of England, and in his interestes and occupations which included Scouting, Swimming and Freemasonry.
Stan’s Scouting appointments included District Venture Scout Leader in Surbiton, Scout Leader of 5th Pinner, Group Scout Leader of 3rd Pinner, ADC Scouts in Pinner and Headstone, Member of the Pinner and Headstone District Executive, District Secretary of Pinner and Headstone and County Swimming Advisor.
He founded and led the Harrow and Wealdstone Scout and Guide Swimming Club for which he will be remembered by many who learnt to swim in this club.
He was awarded the Medal of Merit in 1988 and the Silver Acorn in 2001. His service was recognised by the 15 years service award, the 25 years service award and the 50 years service award in October 2006.
