Managers Training: Part 2 (Achieving Growth) & Part 3 (Meeting the Challenges)

Between: 18th May 2019 - 19th May 2019 All Day Event Location: PACCAR Scout Camp Site (Chalfont St. Peter)

This two day course combines parts 2 and 3 of the Managers and Supporters training scheme skills courses – Achieving Growth and Meeting the Challenges.

By the end of the Achieving Growth part of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Produce an effective development plan to identify and promote growth in local Scouting.
  • Plan and use effective recruitment techniques.
  • Identify situations where change is needed and apply effective change management techniques to local Scouting situations.
  • Identify opportunities for flexible volunteering and support, and practice this in the recruitment and retention of adult Members.
  • Identify steps to implement their personal action plan.

By the end of the Meeting the Challenges part of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify causes of conflict and define appropriate strategies to resolve it.
  • Apply The Scout Association’s dispute, suspension and complaints procedures in an effective manner to real situations.
  • Apply The Scout Association’s safeguarding procedures to real situations.
  • Carry out challenging reviews.
  • Prioritise the different challenges faced in their role.
  • Identify steps to implement their personal action plan.
