Modules 16 (Introduction to Residential Experiences) and 17 (Running Safe Activities)
This one day course combines two modules. You’ll spend the day working with other adults to understand how we can deliver the programme.
Module 16 (Introduction to Residential Experiences) aims to enable section leaders and those who may support residential experiences for young people, as part of their role in Scouting, to understand the role that residential experiences play in Scouting. Completion of this module is part of the adult training scheme and does not automatically give you a Nights Away Permit. If you are interested in gained a Nights Away Permit you should discuss this with your Training Adviser.
Module 17 (Running Safe Activities) aims to enable adults to plan and run exciting, safe and developmental activities for the young people in their section. This module cover the importance of activities in a Balanced Program, how to plan and carrying out safe activities, the Scout Association Permit Schemes, Risk Assessments and the concept of the Leader in Charge.
Before completing this course you should have completed all of the Getting Started, module 12A and module 5 eLearning modules.
