Modules 7, 8 & 9: Working with Adults

This one day course combines three modules which are mandatory for section leaders and managers. You’ll spend the day working with other adults to gain knowledge of how to work effectively with other volunteers, volunteer managers and parents.

Module 7 (Scouting for All) provides an introduction to equal opportunities and practical advice about how to make Scouting inclusive in your area of responsibility.

Module 8 (Skills of Leadership) aims to cover the knowledge, skills and attitudes required to be an effective leader. The module covers systematic planning, action centred leadership, leadership styles and developing leadership skills in others.

Module 9 (Working with Adults) aims to cover the underpinning functions required to work effectively as a member of an adult team. The module covers communication, listening skills, decision making structures and representing others.
