Climbing Course – Artificial Top Rope Leader Course (with options)

About the Course
This weekend will accommodate training, assessments, and refreshers for anyone who feels rusty.
This programme is for leaders wishing to take groups climbing on artificial surfaces such as indoor or outdoor climbing walls. The course covers the syllabus outlined for Artificial Top Rope Leaders on the Scout website for Climbing and Abseiling (FS120452)
The course is aimed at the following:
- Adults with personal climbing experience who are keen to work towards gaining a Scout permit
- Expired permit holders who want to renew a permit
- Permit holders who want a refresher
- Permit holders who would like to upgrade their permit, e.g. adding abseiling or changing from leader to supervisor
- Adults with no previous experience – please contact us for a separate induction session prior to the course
Depending on your needs, you may be required to attend either one or two days of the weekend course.
The course will cover:
Group management, risk and safety, belaying, abseiling, instructing, warm-up, climbing games and movement, emergencies, equipment and leader responsibilities. At the end of the course, successful participants may receive a full or restricted permit, depending on their level of skills and experience.

- Cost: The cost of the course depends on the training required:
